Hi, I have several questions before installing.
    1) Are images searchable when loaded to an album? For example when using enviro or nqxtgen gallery, they are unable to have the names of images searchable from the main website search box. So if I call an image ‘Fluffy Black Dog’ and then search for that image from my website search box will it return the result?
2)Can individual images have their own URLs?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    1. Yes. There are various ways to search photos. You can search on ‘Fluffy Black Dog’, ‘Fluffy’ will retarn all photos with ‘Fluffy’ in its name etc etc.

    2. Yes. They all have their own urls (thumbnail, display and optionally original image if you configure to save them).

    Hi,

Would that be through the standard WordPress search widget on the front end of the site, or…?

    Thanks

There are several ways to search:

    1. The regular search as widget or as ‘wppa box’
    2. The tagcloud as widget or box
    3. The tags filter as widget or box
    4. The super search box
    5. The search with extended features box

There is also a way to combine wp and wppa search results.

Please read the documentation on these topics.

Hi, I’ve created an album and added two photos but I can’t get the album to display and also the photos aren’t searchable in the search widget.

Usually with other gallery plugins I could just create the gallery as menu link but doesn’t seem to work for this plugin.

As an example below is one of the images I loaded up but the link doesn’t even work.

The .htaccess file, required for the use of the photo permalinks may not yet have been created. Change the name of the album, and back, if you like. This triggers the creation of the file. (This shortcoming will be fixed in thge next version).
The file is created at the background (in a cron process), so it may take an hour.

If you want to see at the frontend of the website what you have made in wppa, just make a new page and put this shortcode in it:
    [wppa]

If you want to know what searcheable words are indexed, look at the Photo Albums -> Settings admin page, Table VIII-C3: List index.

You can configure search related settings in Table IX-E on the settinghs page.

In addition to the starting question of this toppic, I would like to know if also the IPTC data are taken into account when launching a search session?
