Tried adding the required Vimeo Client ID, Client Secret and Access Token so that we can show the thumbnail for protected videos. There doesn’t appear to be a separate Access Token Secret in the Vimeo App so I used the Client Secret again (referred to in Vimeo as secrets – plural). However I can’t get a thumbnail to show using the debugging tool “Test Markup for Video” or when saving a post. Is the plug-in compatible with the current Vimeo API v3.2?

Hi! There should be tabs at the top of the page with “Basic”, “OAuth”, and “OAuth2”. If you select “OAuth” there should be all the keys you need.

Many thanks for getting back to me.

I have 5 tabs: “General”, “Providers”, “Mass Actions”, “Debugging” and “Support”.

Under “Providers” I can see “Vimeo Settings”, “Tudou Settings” and “Google Drive Settings” but no other tabs.

Is this facility only available in the Pro version?

Oops, I should have been more specific, those tabs are on the Vimeo developer page.

When I created the App in Vimeo it said the Default API Version is v3.2 with no obvious means to change it. On the App Authentication page there’s a message at the top: “The Vimeo API requires OAuth 2. Check out our authentication documentation for more information.”

There weren’t any other options to change the OAuth version. I downloaded the recent update to the plug-in, left out the Access token secret and all is working as expected now.

    Many thanks for your assitance.

If you leave out one of the keys, the plugin will fall back to using OEmbed instead of the API, which means private videos won’t be accessible. I’ve written a beta version that supports OAuth2, however it may break on older versions of PHP. If you don’t mind testing it out it would be greatly appreciated.

I am having same exact issue, and have implemented the temporary fix that redsundesign has recommended: I have removed the ‘Access Token Secret’ and now this is working.

I’m having the same issue, and the link above to the beta version fix is broken.
Would you mind posting the link again please?
    Thanks.

    Hello

I facing the same issue, is it possible for you to post again the link to download the beta version please?

    Thank you!
