Hi, I’m exploring this plugin for a client. I have two questions:

1- are the receipts issued by Charitable actually officially recognized as valid by the IRS, Canada Revenue Agency, etc?

2- are there transactions fees collected by Charitable FOR Charitable?

    Thanks!

    Andre

    Hi @styzer,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    1. For the best and most accurate information we would suggest you confirm with any agency to determine what is officially recognized, as Charitable produces similar receipt pages, emails, and (with addons) PDFs as most other commerce systems.
    2. Charitable collects 3% platform fees (Stripe) for the lite version, and no fees for any paid license.

Let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks for checking us out!

    Thank you!

So, as I’m not going to be using Stripe but only Paypal, does that also mean that <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>if we are not using Stripe, then there are no fees per transaction collected by Charitable</span>?

Also, are receipts generated and sent automatically with each transaction?

    Many thanks! ?

@styzer at the time of this writing there shouldn’t be non-Stripe transaction fees with the lite version (although gateway fees any gateway would charge you would still apply). Email receipts can be activated and customized in Charitable settings, and can be sent to a donor (and others) automatically. Hope this helps!

OK, so I’m trying to assess the <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>sustainability</span> of this plugin for my client: ? does this mean you could suddenly decide to charge for Paypal-only transactions and it would be forced on us? ? Or would we be grandfathered into it, meaning we would benefit from the same status as when we installed it?

    Thank you! ?

@styzer I’m only speaking to things as they current exist. There are no plans currently to do this so therefore today I couldn’t speak to what we wouldn’t or would do in the future. We want to make sure as many people as possible get value out of Charitable. Hope this helps! Thanks!

Excellent, I forwarded all this encouraging info to my client and just waiting to hear back from her within the next few days.

    Many thanks! ?

Hi, so I installed the plugin and going through the settings I find this:

Allow users to login via the normal WordPress login page or via a static page. The static page should contain the [charitable_login] shortcode.

Pages, Login Page, Registration Page, Profile Page: we don’t want people to login to the site, it’s strictly an information-based site, no interaction or commenting. So how do we solve this? What will happen since there is no way to opt out from having people login, and we don’t want that?

Hi, sorry I didn’t get a reply from you.

Going through the settings I see this:

Is there a way for us to opt out from having people login? Any way to NOT select a page then: Pages, Login Page, Registration Page, Profile Page? That part is confusing.

Thank you. I’m just waiting on your reply to finalize the donation setup so my client can start receiving donations.

    Thank you!

@styzer While some features of Charitable (and it’s addons) prefer someone registering and logging in, the basics (putting up a donation form and having someone fill it out) doesn’t require people registering and logging in. So you can ignore those settings and don’t need to add the shortcodes. Hope this helps!

Hi, thank you so very much for your replies. I truly appreciate it. The plugin is installed and configured as best as I could figure out. Now I wait for people to start using it and looking forward to any feedback from the people who will use it.,

    Regards, all the best!
