Are the view counts shown by the plugin correct?

I found out that the newest entry gets the most hits, looks like the pageviews of the homepage are also counted. In your case I would trust GA more, and adjust the count after you have a new entry.

Pageviews, okay. All good with me. The first post ( the latest post that is ) on the website does not only get the pageviews, but ALSO all pageviews from the index as well. Always have to adjust the count from that post when a new post is published.

When you create new post, Do you copy or duplicate the post ?

New posts are not copy or duplicated, they are fresh and new.

Works great on posts, but my index page ( / ) is showing the latest 15 posts. The newest post (with is on top of the page ) does get pageviews when clicked, but also ALL the hits on the index.

Average pageviews on 1 day are around 3500. But the newest post on top of the indexpage is getting also all hits. So, when I have 10 K hits on the homepage, the newest post has not +/- 3500 pageviews, but 13500

When I publish a new post, I have to adjust the pageview count from the previous post.
