It seems there’s a newer way of doing the grid using CSS, which is not as flexible as the old way, but easier to handle. As far as I can tell it appears to be based on the Bootstrap Grid, but with some refinements. Have you looked into the new CSS Grid?

    Hi,

The way i write a plugin is described here.
Grid WUD is not based on the Bootstrap Grid, which is using a totally other way to create grids.
Grid WUD uses only 1 type of short code to create tiles/grids/galleries or widgets, beside that it’s 90% CSS3 and 10% JQuery based.

All grids/tiles are stored in the file: grid-wud.css
You wil see there sections from:
    #grid-1-wud-wrapper-1 to #grid-1-wud-wrapper-20
    and this until:
    #grid-7-wud-wrapper-1 to #grid-7-wud-wrapper-20.
Here are all the available types of grids/tiles stored.

Is this an answer to your question?

    Regards, Danny

To correct your misapprehension, I’m not talking about BootStrap, but about CSS. I think it comes under CSS3 Grids, but try a search on CSS3 Grids to see what you get.

And now that I’ve been reminded; have you thought about including other CSS3 Grid functions?

    Hello,

    Sorry for my misunderstanding …

Seems to be a nice thing the CSS3 Grids, however it’s not yet all browsers supported.
    CSS3 Grids
I can start already with it and let the end user decide (with a drop-down list) which one they want to use.

To answer your question … yes ?? i will include it (as an option).
Note here that it takes some time to learn and implement this CSS3 Grids.

    Regards, Danny

    Hello,

I did some search today and discovered that this CSS3 Grids is not ready yet.
    Some sample and explanation: https://wud-plugins.com/wp-help/grids-css3-nok/
Maybe it’s better to wait until we can do something with it.
If you have some working samples, let me know ??

    Regards, Dnny

Not all browsers support this kind of CSS, so we have to wait until it is …

I agree. Adobe’s Regions sounded like a good idea, but it turned out to be too fussy for many folks. Flexboxes and the new Grids not so much, but still it is a good idea to get things hammered out before they become a standard.

In any case I thank you for your replies, and I apologize for not answering sooner.
