are widgets also hard-coded?

  • In the default template there are a number of widgets in the sidebar, but those widgets don’t seem to be controlled by the WordPress interface for Widgets — does anyone know if they are hard-coded?

  • sidebar related code is in sidebar.php and sidebar-2.php;

    those ‘hard-coded widgets’ will disappear when you drag actual widgets into the respective areas.
