are you sure you want to do this? (timeout)

So this has been happening since 2009.

All the other forum threads I see are closed (I’ve looked through 3 and lost patience).

We are all having the SAME issue, contrary to what a lot of people are writing in the other threads by the same name.

What happens is the session times out while editing a page or post.

Now, when I press Update or Publish, i get “are you sure you want to do this?”

As everyone before me has stated, neither pressing “try again” nor back on the browser help. The work is lost. In my case it’s a couple hours of work.

In my particular situation, I had been logged out overnight. I logged back in on one tab, but apparently the new session hadn’t applied itself to this tab. So I wrote a lot of words, compiled a lot of links, and then lost it all.

But what sucks is this has been a known problem for years!

Please don’t destroy work. Don’t make Update/Publish button load a new page, especially if the session is stale! Check that the session is fresh in the code, and make a backup of the edit before going to a new page please!
