    Hi,

I have the SCF plugin setup and it is running well with great performance.

However, with a shared hosting plan there is always room for improvement.

To increase performance is the Argo product or the Pro plan option worth the money to gain these increases?

I am interested in your opinion and overall experience with those products.

    Thanking you in advance!

If you are willing to spend some money, here will be my recommendation:
    1. Get Cloudflare Pro ($20/mo) – This will give you Polish – Unlimited image optimization + WAF among other things
    2. Hoping you have already enabled Smart Tiered Caching, if you can enable Cache Reserve especially if your site is not a very high traffic site.

    That’s it.

    Hi,

Thank you – that is helpful.

I have the tiered cache enabled but not the Cache Reserve. I will have to explore that option.

Is switching from shared to VPN service going to essentially give me the same performance boost?

Well, that’s hard to answer. If your site is something where the normal people do not have to login and only you and the editors login to the site to add posts/content and you are ok with the performance you guys get from the shared hosting then yes.

Cause if the normal user don’t have to login, in that case if the content is already cached by Cloudflare then the request won’t even come to your origin server and served by Cloudflare. So, in that case what kind of origin server you have becomes less important. But in general performance-wise, VPS is any day better than a shared hosting.
