Arras Theme 3-column issue

come on man stop developing your themes for IE6 its dead! its spoiled the web designing industry… companies like Google only don’t support IE6… y do u want to scratch ur head for that?

seriously, don’t worry about IE6, anyone still using that is an [moderated – please stay polite] !

The only other option is to use conditional comment CSS but it will be a big job.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of idiots around. The workstation I checked my website happened to belong to one as well.

I’m not fixated on getting my theme right for IE6, but the problem is that when I checked my Google Analytics account, most of my visitors are using IE.

Now I don’t know which version. Is there a way in Analytics to see the break-up of browsers version-wise?

there probably is a way but most people are probably on the more recent editions of IE. if necessary have an info page on your site informing your visitors that the site will look and behave properly in IE8-9 and if they’ve got IE6 they might like to upgrade (or better yet change to a proper browser like FF or chrome!)

Ok I trust you guys and will try to leave IE6 alone.

But I was snooping around in my theme files and I found a file called IE6.css which isn’t visible in wordpress theme editor. It seems that the creator of Arras theme knew IE6 was going to be a handful and hence created a separate file to tackle it.

I’ve finally given up of tweaking the site for IE6 sake in 3C layout and gone back to the e-zine layout.

It works much better this way.
