I have been using Zotpress for some years on a couple of webpages:
    here:
    https://heliconius.zoo.cam.ac.uk/publication/full-publication-list/
    and here:
    https://www.heliconius.org

I am having problems with the Cite and Download links. For older publications, the download link correctly links to the pdf file on the Zotero website, but for newer ones it either doesn’t work or links to NCBI pubmed version of the paper. I cannot see what is different but something is preventing the correct link.

Similarly the ‘Cite’ link used to bring up a citable version of each paper but now brings up the word ‘Forbidden’. Can anyone shed light on exactly how these links are generated and how to ensure that Download links to the pdf file?

    Thanks

Something was changed about how the RIS files for citing are accessed, and I’ve updated the code to follow.

Still looking into the download issue, though …

Okay thanks. Its really the download issue that I would most like to resolve. I really appreciate the ability to provide pdf downloads and am frustrated that it works sometimes and not others

There’s at least couple of ways to add pdf downloads to items in your library and it’s possible that Zotpress isn’t capturing all of them. Can you share the way(s) you’re adding pdfs in your library?

I’m not sure without checking your library, but I think the download issue might be fixed in 6.0. Please re-open if not!

Downloads now work fine, but it does depend how they are added. Files from publisher websites often don’t work, but files added directly to the library by drag and drop are fine. Thanks!
