Ascend theme support coming soon?

    Hi there (Kevin?),
    I’ve just switched from Virtue to Ascend as it had some extra styling that I would have liked in Virtue (search field in the main menu, sticky header) and I really like the typing text! However, I’ve got a couple of q’s for the theme, and there doesn’t seem to be a free version support forum here yet (I’m guessing since the theme itself isn’t yet available on WordPress). Is it possible to answer here for now..?

    The main thing is that I’d like to add a call-to-action button to the main header title image. I was using a SiteOrigins hero image with CTA on Virtue, and could do that here, but I’d love to combine the button with the typing text animation.

    If it’s not possible to do that, is it possible to copy the CSS for the typing text and apply it to the SiteOrigins hero code?

  • Since Ascend is not available in the wp.org repository it is considered a commercial product. As such we ask that you please go to their official support channel so you can get support from the people who know it best.

    The vendors are the best resource for support of commercial products. Also, as the vendor is aware, they cannot offer support for commercial products in this forum.

    The Ascend Free theme is in line to get approval from www.ads-software.com, so it will be a bit of time before the theme has it’s own dedicated forum. Hopefully it wont be too far off, but I don’t know for sure.

    If you’re using the Premium version of the theme, the you should follow the above instructions and post in the Kadence Themes forums.

    I’m not sure if it’s acceptable practice for me to answer questions related to the Ascend Free theme in the Virtue Free forums, but if the mod that commented here allows it, I’d be happy to answer your questions in this thread. We’ll just have to wait for their response.

    Currently, ascend is going through the review process to get on www.ads-software.com

    It’s hard to guess how much longer until it makes it live. It’s past the first part of the review and waiting for a final review from a theme review admin.

    Your welcome to use the contact form on your site, and if we get a signal that the review is going to take a lot longer we’ll create a special forum.

    Quickly to answer your question:
    Make sure you have the Kadence toolkit enabled and you can add a button shortcode into the subtitle box for the homepage in your appearance > theme options > home page options:

    No, sorry, it’s not. Until the theme is approved and added to the repository your customers should use your external support services. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Thanks @britner and @jx-3p and apologies @bdbrown! I wasn’t aware of that rule (and couldn’t use the Kadence forum as it’s premium-only). I’ve got it working and look forward to seeing this (excellent) theme in the WP repository soon.
