ASE conflict with plugin "Mobile Sharebar"

Are there any noticeable JS errors?

Yeah, when mobile sharebar is activated there is a JS error with aesop:

“Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function” in ai-core.js.map:34

heh, yeah we’re not even loading that file. we’re loading ai-core.min.js . Will have to pull down their plugin later to see what’s up.

I just spent about 20 minutes trying to get this working, but unfortunately these guys are including their own copy of jQuery.

This is extremely bad practice. There’s not much we can do about this unfortunately. I tried unchecking their box in the settings, and the buttons are their, but I don’t see them due to CSS issues.

This is causing conflicts with Master Slider and keeping it from loading slides.

Any ideas?

We do not directly load a file called ai-core.js.map .

The error the previous user was having is because the plugin is loading it’s own copy of jQuery. There’s really not much we can do about those that don’t properly code their plugins.

Can you try deleting ai-core.js.map from the plugin to see if this fixes things?

That’s funny. The error only appears with Aesop Story Engine being activated.

The conflicting plugin mentioned, Master Slider, is deactivated at this point.

You only have Aesop Story Engine activated, and you’re still getting the error?

I have other plugins activated, but no apparent conflicts with Aesop and them, and no errors thrown by them.

The Master Slider plugin that does conflict with Aesop is off.

The error now is: ai-core.min.js:3 Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function – It has been that before and changed back after a hard page reload.

If I turn off Aesop, neither error is apparent.

Would you mind testing it with a default WordPress theme?

Does it still happen with your theme deactivated?

I could test it on a different site with a default theme, but not this one. Would that help?

The first error you reported was from teh map file. We do not load this file, it’s used for debugging in the browser.

The second error you reported was from ase.min.js. We DO load this file, but there are no other reports of this issue across the more than 2K active installs of ASE. I”m more than certain this is related to your theme because it’s loading so many different JS files, but there’s no way to tell unless we test without it.
