Asking for First, Last Name during registration

    Is there a way I can ask for the First Name and Last Name, during registration?

    Can it be done from within WP, or do I need a plugin?

    Hello and thank you for your help…

    I am using that already for other fields.
    However in this case I would have to create two more extra fields.

    This could definitely work, but I wouldn’t be using the default “First Name” and “Last Name” that comes in the DB of WP…

    Isn’t there a way to use the default fields for First Name and Last Name?

    The Cimy User Extra Fields plugin mentioned by WPyogi will let you enable those WordPress hidden fields during registration.

    1. Go to Admin->Settins->Cimy User Extra Fields.
    2. Scroll down to the ‘WordPress hidden fields’ section.
    3. Check the boxes next to ‘Show first name’ and ‘Show last name’.
    4. Click ‘Save Changes’.
