• Hi there,

I am working with a WP site and I want all of the content that is currently on the homepage to appear on a separate page https://www.myurl.com/page

I believe when I go to https://www.myurl.com it is currently using page.php or front-page.php template.

Is there a way to tell https://www.myurl.com/page to use the template that is being used for the homepage. I don’t see it in the list of available templates when editing the page.

I think this has to do with the WP template hierarchy and how templates are loaded. Thanks!

  • Without knowing what theme you are using, or being able to take a look at what is currently visible on your domain; I think on the most basic level, the first thing to explore might be the Reading Settings options in your dashboard. That (and-or in combination with any custom options that may be available in your current themes settings) should allow you to choose what page you would like to show for your front page, as well as where you would like your posts to appear.

It is an elegant themes theme, Vertex and the site is https://www.Travalu.com

Thanks, but I believe your suggestion would be to change what is displayed at https://www.travalu.com – I am trying to have https://www.travalu.com/newpage display what is currently displayed on the homepage.

If I understand correctly now, you simply want to duplicate the content that already shows on your home page at www.travalu.com, and show it on an additional page located in your navigation menu?

Maybe you could use the built in WordPress custom menu creator to add the “newpage” link to your navigation menu, and then point that menu link at www.travalu.com.
