Assign Author to posts by category automatically

Hi. I need to assign Author name to certain category posts 2-3 times per day that are imported from an external source and they come without the author field. Can I schedule a task to run periodically to assign a specific an Author name to any post with an empty author field?. Can I do this with your plugin?
