(One of the greatest WP plugins of all time.)

Please consider adding a feature whereby one can assign a custom css class to a column or columns. (If this capability exists, I apologize and ask that you tell me how to do it.)

For example, I’d like to add the class name of “number” to columns displaying numbers, so that I can set their text-alignment to “right”.

I know that I can target #tablepress-nn td.column-x in my stylesheet for a single table. However, I have a few Web sites where I’m using multiple TablePress tables (9, to be exact, on the site I’m working on today) on a single page, all of which display school tuition information, and they vary with respect to the number of columns they have.

    Hi,

Thanks for your feature suggestion, I really appreciate it!

Indeed, this is not possible at the moment, and to be honest, I’m a bit reluctant to add it — because I’m not sure how a suitable user interface could look like.
Right now, even the “Extra CSS classes” field for tables is causing quite a lot of confusion, and I fear that an extra one for each column (which would also use up space somewhere) might even cause more confusion for inexperienced users…
I’ll however think about it some more!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thanks for the prompt response.

    I do understand your reluctance.

Maybe consider adding it as a premium extension. That way: (a) you’d get paid for it, and (b) inexperienced users (who, presumably, would not purchase the extension) would not be confused by it. (I’d buy it!)

What I envision is simply a row of boxes above the normal first row, into which one could enter class names.

    Hi,

yes, an Extension could be a possibility, even though it’s a bit tricky to integrate something into the “Edit” screen with that method…

But I’ll look into it! I’ll however be on parental leave shortly, so that it won’t be a solution that I can offer in the very near future, I’m afraid.

    Regards,
    Tobias
