Assign posts to editor

Hi all, I’m sure I’m not the first to ask this and that there’s most likely a plugin but Google’s let me down so I’ll ask here.

Is there a plugin that will allow me to assign posts to users for an editing approval cycle? For example, when I write a new post I save it, somebody else edits it, passes it back to me and then approves it before going live?

Ideally it would have an email notification tool built in.
