• I am running a web design company as a freelancer and I am looking forward to have all the websites from my clients on a Multisite WP Network but I would like each website to have its own unique domain.

I have tried WordPress MU Domain Mapping Plugin with no success. I have the domain that I am testing assigned to my hosting provider and have configured the IP address of my server.

Any idea on what could be happening?

  • I would highly recommend that you force your client to own their own data. What this means is that your clients should all have their own hosting accounts at a trusted WordPress hosting provider. If you host it then you are responsible for everything.

Having said that…Multisite for a client websites sounds great. But, in reality it’s not. It’s not what it is designed for and will lead to problems and inconveniences in the future.

To add on to Patrick’s remarks, the reason it’s a bad idea is you don’t WANNA be their webhost ?? You’re not responsible for email, DNS, and everything else. And if they leave you, moving them off your network is a pain.

But. If you WANT to do it, let’s look at this:

I have tried WordPress MU Domain Mapping Plugin with no success.

Okay, what results are you seeing? Did you park the domain on your server and add it to vhosts?

And make sure the add-on domain(s) are pointed to the same place as the primary domain on the network.

Can you tell how to make more detail? I try to make it since one week. and I can’t install blog on my network.

I tried made it and now my new website lead to primary blog ??

I haven’t also park domain but I have attached or pinned. I don’t know how to say it in English. Is it enough?
