Assigning category ID

    The links manager lets you arrange categories by ID, but I can’t see anywhere that it lets you assign an ID to a category and I don’t like the order it is putting them in when left to itself. How do I change the category ID # so I can arrange them the way I want?

  • The category ID is auto assigned when you create it and is not an editble field (at least in WP 1.2.2, I’ve not gone to WP 1.5 yet). If you’re comfortable with phpMyAdmin; you could go in and edit the category IDs that way.
