Assigning multiple authors to single post

I thought that I had read somewhere that WP3.1 supports multiple authors, which I understood as having the ability to assign multiple authors to a single post – i.e. more than one author in the byline.

Does anyone know if this holds true? I’m looking for integrated support, not a plugin solution.
