Assignment Page not usable because of too much content/taxonomy/etc.

    I’m struggling with a well known problem as mentioned here:

    I have a very big site and I already created some different Outline Layouts.
    But I’m not able to assign any outline to any content.
    As soon I try to click on any button to assign the layout to the page, the site keeps loading and loading until it finished with a “white screen of death”.

    However is it possible to assign the outline in the Database? If yes, could you please tell me how to do so.
    Or is it possible to deactivate the assignment for categories and other taxonomy entries? I Just need a standard assignment for Front/Home/Article/Site – Page Nothing else needed.

    It is certainly possible to make manually assignments by editing YAML files.
    Please let me know if you want me to guide you.
