    Dear WooCommerce Support Team,

I hope this email finds you well , I am happy user of woocommerce , my site url is luxedeals.online .

I am writing to seek assistance with an issue that I have encountered on my website related as I suspect to WooCommerce functionality. Specifically, on the product category pages, I am noticing the presence of a parameter in the URLs that seems to be impacting the user experience. The URLs include a “v=” parameter, and this behavior is causing some confusion among my site visitors , plus in google search console I get error because of this .

I have followed a guide that suggest go to woocommerce >> ?settings >> Default costumer location >> set as No Location by default .

After commiting this my url in my Home Page url as really removed the “v=” but only in the home page of my site it was luxedealsonline.”v=” and now it is without it , however it still didn’t resolve the problem when you go to one of the categories in my site it looks like this ”?https://luxedeals.online/product-category/cars-products/?v=88588bacf0da

    https://luxedeals.online/product-category/popular/?v=88588bacf0da

after commiting No Location by default it still happends .

I have gone through various settings and configurations within WooCommerce and WordPress, but I am unable to pinpoint the source of this parameter addition to the URLs. Given that this parameter is affecting the browsing experience of my customers, I am eager to find a solution as soon as possible , plus i get canonical tag error on google console because of that duplicate page ,

Could you please provide guidance on how I can resolve this issue? I would greatly appreciate any insights, recommendations, or steps I can take to rectify this situation and ensure that my website’s URL structure is clean and user-friendly .

Could it be related to that I have recently connected google listing and ads to woocommerce ?

    Please help me with this

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you and finding a solution to this matter .

    Best regards

  • Hi there,

I’m pretty sure that changing the default customer location has done what it is supposed to do. If we look at the default shop page, we can see that the URLs to the product category archive pages and the single product pages lack the query parameter for geolocation page caching. See screenshot: https://d.pr/i/JDFN7z

It seems to only affect the product category links on the home page: https://d.pr/i/ubpnFJ

It looks to me like that homepage was built with Elementor and I’m guessing that was done while page caching support for geolocation was enabled and those links have been saved that way. Perhaps there’s a way to edit those URLs. If you need help with that, the support team for Elementor is in the best position to assist.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. The home page was built with Elementor, and you’re right about the page you mentioned (https://luxedeals.online/) the home page really lack the query v=”xxx” and that what i want my pages to look like . However, it appears the “query v=”xxx”” is typically added to category pages look like this ?https://luxedeals.online/product-category/cars-products/?v=88588bacf0da . Please note that this query is only added to category pages. The category pages weren’t created using Elementor. By the way, the screenshot you provided doesn’t seem to be accessible for me.

If the category pages weren’t created with Elementor, I’m wondering how Elementor can assist me in this situation. I’m quite certain that the issue might be related to the WooCommerce plugin.

If the category pages weren’t created with Elementor

It’s not the category pages themselves that are adding the query argument. The links to those product pages contain the query argument and my assumption is that is because the links were added to the home page when page caching support for geolocation was added.

The links that WooCommerce is generating for product category pages do not contain the query argument. See screenshot: https://d.pr/i/YzBWWT

In short, WooCommerce isn’t adding that to the links from your home page. You’ll likely need to edit those links but since the page was created with Elementor, their support team is in the best position to advise if you don’t know how to do that.
