    Hi,

I am trying to get GDPR complient and optimize my website for speed.

In doing this I want to have the google fonts (roboto and poppins) hosted locally. So far so good.

However both astra and elementor handles fonts and I am not sure how to set it up properly. At the moment many fonts are loaded since both Astra and elementor does their own calls to google…

    • I have disabled standard fonts in elementor settings (so it should inherit theme fonts instead).
    • I have enabled Astra theme to host google fonts locally
    • In theme customizer I have set global fonts for text and header. But I let H1-H6 inherit fonts.

If I disable google fonts in elementor I cant build the content/pages with google fonts since they are removed from elementor settings.

How should I make this possible?

    Best regards,

    Flamuren

  • Hi @flamuren,

Once you enable Load Google Fonts Locally option, Astra will not call the font from Google as it is already downloaded and stored on your server. If you pick the font as Default on the Elementor editor, then the font would inherit from the Customizer. As long as you have disabled the default fonts from Elementor’s Settings.

Anyway, for your case, I guess this doc will help.

Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and dropped Astra and went with Elementor hello theme. That solved most of the problems ??

Well, I would be honest that it’s not an update that I expected ??

    Good luck then!

Feel free to start a new thread if there is anything else related to Astra, we can help you with.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
