    Hello,
I am very new to wordpress. My previous web work has been directly with a JS framework.
Anyway, I have installed and activated the astra theme. I have noticed that if I create a menu, then my two available pages are “home” and “sample page”. But if I switch to pages, then sample page and privacy policy available.
why is the home page not available?

Is the right approach with wordpress to create the pages first and then add menus that refer to those pages?
    Regards,

    Thanks for this Vijay.
I was specifically wondering about the “missing” home page – why it was available in the menu editor but not in the pages editor.

A possible reason could be that your homepage is set to “Your latest posts” if it’s set to this then you don’t need a page in pages. By default, WordPress will display a dynamic page as a homepage in which you’ll see your latest posts.

In order to set the homepage as a static page, you’ll have to create a new page. then go to Settings – Reading page
then chooses the radio button for static page the set static page from dropdown. you can also choose the blog static page as well in which all the blogs posts archive will be shown.
