• I recently notice what looks like an echoed comment at the very top left of my site pages. The comment is: /* ]]> */

This is found in many plugins on my site.
I ran a search plugin that finds it in many locations.
The site uses the rather old, but popular suffusion theme.
Any idea on where to start troubleshooting?
I’ve disabled nearly every plugin, but that comment remains.
    Ideas anyone?
oh, and what is the actual purpose of placing /* ]]> */ comment within php?
I’m considering dumping suffusion in favor of a more modern theme.

It appears to be some broken javascript brought in from a CDN.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

That javascript is from McAfee and is used within a footer widget. But when I remove the widget and javascript the /* ]]> */ remains.
Tried deactivating caching and all suspect plugins.
    No joy.
