Atom format is not working

Great plugin! Thank you very much for creating it!
In an special section of my site (under construction) i’d like to offer the index of the latest number of medical journals, and this plugin is ok for this!
But some journals offers their feeds only in atom format and the plugin seems to work only with RSS format. Is this correct?For example, this link “https://www.nejm.org/action/showFeed?jc=nejm&type=etoc&feed=rss” does not work with the plugin.
But it works if I use an external conversor like this: “https://www.devtacular.com/utilities/atomtorss/?url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.nejm.org%2faction%2fshowFeed%3fjc%3dnejm%26type%3detoc%26feed%3drss”

I really don’t want to use an external conversor and I can not figure out how to solve this.
