ATT00001.txt Resurfaces

    WP version : 4.7.2
    Postie Version : 1.8.31
    email client : ios native
    ios version : 10.2.1

    Issue :

    When sending mail with img content, the ATT00001.txt file is also used as a part of the post. This issue was earlier addressed in postie v 1.4.33, however, it seems to have resurfaced.

    Workaround :

    In the Attachments tab, under the Banned File Names, enter without the quotes, “ATT*.txt”. That fixed it for me.

    This feature has not been removed from Postie. However, I do see that it is only invoked if the MIME type is ‘text’ I’ll look into making it more generic.

    So If I understand you correctly, the iOS client sends a MIME type different from TEXT and therefore we have this issue. I must admit I did not try to use alternative mail clients. Perhaps I could do a small test with say a web client like Inbox and an alternative mail client.

    Since I have a workaround, there is no urgency to the bug report, at least not from my end.

    Thanks for the offer, but adding it permanently to the banned filename list will solve the issue which is what I’ve done for the next version.
