• Good day,

    For your information, I have this message format in settings:
    quote
    {POST_TITLE}
    {PERMALINK}
    #bachquotes
    {POST_CONTENT}
    unquote
    And in setting I have Attach image = No.

    Please consider my last 2 tweets (both auto).
    Before pressing Publish at a new post, I did set Attach image = Yes (bottom of edit page).
    The earliest of those two tweets is the result.
    It looks ok, although in this particular case the post content is a bit confusing.
    A portion of the video image is displayed, and I can see that the box text is picked up from the YouTube video description.
    I would prefer just the image, but otherwise ok.

    Then I made a minor correction to the post (still not pressing update), and changed the message format (at the edit page) to:
    quote
    {POST_TITLE}
    {PERMALINK}
    #bachquotes
    My presentation video of this website which has been uploaded to my YouTube channel, is now available at the site as well.
    unquote
    Attach image (bottom of edit page) was still = Yes (unchanged).
    Then I updated the post.
    The latest of those two tweets is the result.

    By mistake the image is now gone (but the link still works).
    And now the text is picked up from the post instead of the YouTube video.

    What happened to the image and text ?
    Is it possible to suppress the text so that only the image/video is displayed in full ?
    How can I make a simple text tweet with no image or fancy box ?

    Best wishes, Niels

    When there is no attachment(in the case of free plugin image is added as the attachment , with the premium plugin, image , multiple image up-to 4 numbers or video as attachment) and also if there is a link in the tweet text then twitter will generate preview from your site’s twitter cards or open graph tags.

    A portion of the video image is displayed, and I can see that the box text is picked up from the YouTube video description.
    I would prefer just the image, but otherwise ok.

    In th etweet with youtube video preview, twitter displayed preview of your youtube video link which was a part of the tweet text.
    On the second tweet the post content is missing the youtube video link in the text ,so it fetched the post url meta tags, but twitter:image tag was missing so the grey thumbnail missing icon is displayed instead of image preview.

    Is it possible to suppress the text so that only the image/video is displayed in full ?

    From your post url the twitter card is
    <meta name=”twitter:card” content=”summary”>
    you should use summay large card instead.
    Also your site restricts access in the robots.txt file.
    Twitter strictly follows this so it won’t pick meta tags from your site.
    First change your robots.txt file so that twitter can generate your post’s preview by fetching the twitter card set for your site.

    In your source url there are 2 meta tags.
    1.Open Graph Meta Tags generated by MashShare 3.7.5 – https://www.mashshare.net
    2.Yoast SEO plugin v14.1
    These multiple og:tags also may result in incorrect thumbnail issues.
    Set any default image url in the seo plugin’s for the posts that do not contain any image.

    How can I make a simple text tweet with no image or fancy box ?

    If your post contain link twitter will generate the preview from the link.

    Hope this helps.
    Thank you.
