Attach Packing Slip to New Order email

Hi there. I have a question with filters.

How to apply filters to attach the document type ‘packing slip’ to ‘New Order’ email. I was able to do this easily in the plugin but cannot understand how to apply the filters for this in my themes functions.php. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for the great plugin.
