Attach purchases to users if they checkout as guest

    I was under the impression that if a member of my website made a purchase but forgot to log in beforehand, the purchase would automatically link to their account on my website if they used the exact same e-mail address. Is this not how it works?

    I used a test account on my website; made a purchase logged out as a guest and then after I made the purchase, I logged into that account and went to my Purchase History section and it says You have not made any purchases

    As you can see in this screen shot https://i.snag.gy/yF4BNa.jpg the e-mail addresses are the same but there’s no user id attached to the customer.

    That’s definitely how it should work. So there might be something wrong on your site.

    Please temporarily deactivate all plugins besides EDD and test once more to see if you get the same behavior. If you do, please go to Downloads -> Tools -> System Info and paste the contents here.

    I deactivated all plugins except for EDD and tried another order but it still didn’t attach the purchase. I even created a new user, logged out, made a guest purchase with same e-mail, logged back in after purchase…it didn’t attach the order.

    I’m hiding my site url because it’s a development site while I work on my new design, if you need it let me know.
