If Mailpoet is used with your own SMTP server, file attachments from other mails then Mailpoet-Mails are deleted.

Mailpoet can be used for sending newsletters and also as a standard sending method for all mails from WordPress. The user has the choice if he wants to use his own mail server (e.g. the one of the provider) or the sending service of Mailpoet.

If you use your own server, attachments of mails from e.g. contact forms like Contact Form 7 will be removed, although Mailpoet says, only when using the sending service this will be done.

    Hi @collaborato,

There’s a small misunderstanding here. Attachments are not supported if you have selected the same sending method set in the MailPoet’s Settings, regardless of that being the MailPoet Sending Service or a 3rd-party.

If you’re sending transactional emails with the sending method set in the plugin, the attachments won’t be sent. You’ll need to switch to the WordPress default sending method in MailPoet Settings > Advanced >?Send all site’s emails with…

I hope this clarifies and solves the issue for you.

    Thanks, good to know.

One request: It would be great if in the configuration dialog this information was noted. Like “If they use the same sending method for all WordPress mails, then no attachments will be sent along.” That would make it clearer and avoid surprises.

    Thanks for the good work!
