I am using the newest version of TablePress and WordPress. I have several tables which contain links to PDF’s. I click on the Advanced Editor, place my cursor in the desired cell and then select the PDF I want to insert into a TablePress cell. After selecting the PDF from the media library, I select “New Window or Tab” option in the Custom Link Target box while still on the Media Library page and then select insert into Table. Unfortunately, the target=”_blank” attribute is not carried over into the TablePress cell where the PDF selected is inserted. Am I doing something wrong? I generally have to add the attribute manually which is not too bad considering TablePress does the bulk of the work scripting the necessary html tags.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I can’t really reproduce this. Can you maybe post a link to a screenshot of how you are choosing/configuring the link and that “New Window or Tab” checkbox?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thank you for the quick response. Here is a link to the screen shots I created showing the steps I take.

    Hi,

    thanks a lot for that!

From what I can see, you seem to be using a plugin (or it’s a theme function) that is added the “Caption 2”, “Custom Link URL”, and “Custom Link Target” fields to that dialog. These three fields don’t exist in the the media library on my sites. And as they are added by a different plugin, they are most likely not picked up by the “Insert Into Table” button, I’m afraid.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks again for the prompt response. You are absolutely correct! I was using a plugin which added those options on the insert media page. I did not realize those fields were not on the standard WordPress platform. That certainly explains the issue. Thanks a again for your support.

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! ?? Good to hear that this helped!
I hope it’s not too much of a problem to have to add the target="_blank" manually in these cases.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
