Attachment page for media identical to just the media file alone.

    Hello

    When opening an image’s attachment page, my site behaves the same as when selecting “open image in a new tab” – i.e. just the full size image alone is displayed.

    Usually a WP attachment page is a bit like a post, consisting of the image, the image’s description below, a link to where the image was posted, and a comment section (plus whatever else is set as standard for posts, like a sidebar for example.)

    So I feel like either the attachment page is missing in Neve or there’s a bug that redirects to the media file when the attachment page should be opened (or something inbetween).

    Hi, rodario, I am another user of the Neve theme.

    The theme does offer the attachment pages.

    I think the issue is that you have a plugin or custom code on your site that’s causing the attachment page to redirect to the actual file.

    Please try using the “Health Check” plugin to diagnose the issue: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/.

    In the troubleshooting tab, you can disable all plugins while logged in; visitors will see the website as if the plugin(s) wasn’t changed.

    Please try deactivating plugins to determine if plugin(s) are causing your issue.

    Thanks for the tip, but wow that’s a lot of one star reviews for “breaks site” on that plugin.

    I tried it the old fashioned way and it turns out it was Yoast SEO of all things. Weird because I didn’t have that issue on other sites where I use it.

    I also found the setting that caused it, of course (under Search Appearance / Media). Must be something that was not enabled by default before and I didn’t even realize existed.
