    Hi all,

Noticed a structured data error of late for these archives of my site. See link attached to this post.

I have Yoast set to Redirect attachment pages to images, which is working.

Wondering how these URLs are being generated as they are set to Index, Follow, and I am getting the Structured Data error now on these.

Are they attachment archives or just pages archives for the site? and what is best course of action here?

    Thanks!
    Chris

  • Hi @chris-slick,

Thank you for reaching out about this.

We have seen a few different scenarios where an @type Schema issue can appear. We see that this specific attachment query page you’ve linked has the Type Webpage, null too. However, we are not sure how this URL is being created. It looks like these are paginated archive pages in combination with the attachment query.

We would like to know if the same page works in a default theme and/or with plugins enabled. Can you please check if that is the case? You can use the Health Check plugin troubleshooting mode to test these things without affecting other users or site visitors. We have some documentation on this here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/

    Hi Jeroen,

Sorry for the delayed response here.

I tested again with the Theme switched to the default Twenty Twenty Version: 1.5 and the Structured Data Testing Tool says the error was still present here.

I then proceeded to turning the Yoast plugin off. The error is resolved in both situations of using default theme and my own theme here. It seems a conflict with the Yoast plugin here.

Any idea how to resolve this?

    Thanks

The issue you are experiencing is specific to both the URL and Yoast SEO. The URL https://www.telltalesonline.com/page/2/?attachment_id=zqxqaryz you are referring to here isn’t commonly used anywhere with the paginated archive and as such, Yoast SEO struggling to output the correct schema markup for it.

However, if you test the same paginated archive without using the query strings ?attachment_id=zqxqaryz, you can see that there are no schema markup errors at all.

That said, even though the URL you are referring to here isn’t commonly used anywhere, Yoast SEO should still output the right schema markup for it. Therefore, we welcome you to submit a bug report directly at our GitHub development repository so our development team can look into this further.
