Attachments appear on localhost but not live

So I had initially installed this plugin on my site and I noticed a couple of things.

1. When I choose an image to upload and submit, the topic or reply is created, but the attachments don’t show up.
2. When I click “Add another file”, it just brings me back to the top of the page.

The description above is referring to the live site. I thought that maybe it just wasn’t compatible with the theme that I was using, or perhaps there was another plugin conflicting with it. So I had migrated everything from the live site over to my localhost using MAMP. When I did this and created a reply or topic, the attachments were showing up just fine.

I checked the folder permissions, and it’s at 775 so I’m under the assumption that that should be sufficient but no good still.

Does this plugin require me to have allow_url_fopen enabled perhaps?
