• Hey everyone, switched over to WordPress the other day to see if I can get my website running the way I want to. Previously tried it out with Drupal, but after banging my head against the wall for a few weeks, I gave up….great software, but too complicated to get things rolling the way I want them. Any pointers to get me on the right path with this would be great! Here is what I’m trying to do:

    1. I have a collection of over 2,000 recorded DJ sets (mp3) that I would like to have up on the website for download (by registered users only, with guests having access to select few)

    2. How do I set this up so that the .mp3 id3 tags can be read into a database (if needed), and that database can easily be viewed/searched/previewed/downloaded by the user? I’d rather not have a GUI of the files, which doesn’t look very nice.

    3. I basically want to users to be able to click (say on categories, perhaps by year, artist, etc) which shows up all the files relative to those categories/tags. Then I could have different ‘blocks’ that could say, show top 10 commented on files, top 10 recent files, etc.

Any ideas guys? For an example of a site that does something similar is https://www.mixriot.com. My website is groovesmooth.net

    Would appreciate any help!!

    Cheers,

    Sean
