Audio files not working?

I’ve never tried working with audio files in the past, but am now using them (or trying to) for a few book reviews on my website. I’ve uploaded both MP3 files as well as an OGG file. I started with an MP3 file, which I was able to download via Media. However, when I went to place it in the post, and check it was working, it was nothing but a thick black line where the file should have been.

I tried refreshing, deactivating all plugins, logging out and back in. Nothing seems to make a difference. So I did some digging around the internet, and found a few things saying that Firefox that won’t honor the MP3 format with HTML5?

So, I tried deleting the MP3 file completely, resaving it as an OGG file (which supposedly is okay with Firefox). I even listened to the file via Firefox, and it seemed to work fine.

Given that, I went ahead and uploaded into Media again. Went back through the process of placing the audio file in the post with the shortcode which it uses by default. This time, it STILL won’t workT. he file URL in the Media folder is: https://www.goodinmysoul.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Peter-Steidl-BRs.ogg. So, I tried going straigt to that URL in another tab on Firefox, it says 403 Permission denied.

I’m trying to embed this file into a blog post, and I’m really at a loss here. Does anyone have any advice on what may be going on here?
