• We use the Audio Player plugin on a music blog, inserting tracks that artists provide us to give to our readers. For some reason, the plugin works fine in Safari, Chrome, IE6, IE7 and IE8, but it delivers a “file not found” error when loading in Firefox.

    I’ve tested on PC — using FF 3.6.6 — and on a Mac — using FF 3.6.8. All say “File not found” when trying to play the track. This problem has been reported by some of our readers, too. I’m wondering whether FF is blocking something with the Flash player?

    Here’s a link to one of the blog posts that includes the track.

    We’ll be updating soon to WordPress 3.0, but I don’t believe this problem is related to that. Any help on how to solve would be greatly appreciated!

  • I am having the same issue. Can someone please help to get this working in Firefox? It works fine in I.E.

    Or recommend something else.

    Thanks.

    I am having this problem with IE! I’ve checked the path again and again, I’ve verified the media folder where the file is, but the player still says “File not Found.” I need a solution to this, and quickly! Someone help me please!

    in the “advanced” tab in the Audio Player settings
    un-check the Encoding box…

    Enable this to encode the URLs to your mp3 files. This is the only protection possible against people downloading the mp3 file to their computers.

    * Encode mp3 URLs

    This will solve the file not found issue, at least it did for me on bbcweb.ca website, but it’s okay for that site for users to download the mp3

    might not be a solution for all sites using this plugin

    hope that helps.
