audio Shortcode Autoplay Acting Weird

I have the following audio shortcode embedded on a page:

[audio src="audio-here.mp3" autoplay="yes" loop="yes"]

If you view or refresh the page, autoplay doesn’t work. But if you click a menu link that points to the page, then autoplay works.

In addition, it works perfectly on Firefox, but not on Chrome and Safari.

Other notes:

1. I don’t have any active plugin
2. Running WordPress 5.0, but the issue was there in the prior version as well.
3. I’m using the Twenty Nineteen Theme, but the behavior is the same in other themes as well.
