    Hi,
    I just updated to 4.0.1 and now I notice whenever I create a new page and publish it as public, I’m not able to even view/preview the page. Even as an admin it requires the username and password for the site, which it doesn’t even accept admin’s password. I’m wondering what might have changed. I have set the read permission to everyone. I also disabled all the plugins and used the default twenty-fourteen theme. I’m out of ideas on what might have caused the issue.
    I’d appreciate anyone’s feedback on that.
    Thank you all.

  • Can you provide a link a page that is requesting permission?

    What I think is that setting file permissions through filezilla doesn’t work as my server is on a windows based system (maybe not relevant) .
    I did read lots of articles on how to set permissions in plesk, but I’d appreciate anyone showing me by screenshot (probably) what to set for each folder/file . They are currently as they should be ( I believe), but still the page cannot be viewed by anyone.

    I did manage to solve it, and to any one that might run into the same issue;
    I just deleted the page and created anew one, strangely it fixed the problem of permission requirement.
