I have a single UpdraftPlus plugin in my WordPress Blog, everything in this blog is uptodate. I am attempting to set up a single backup from this blog onto Google Drive. I’ve carefully followed all instructions, not only the written UpdraftPlus ones, but also in the video “How To Configure UpdraftPlus to use Google Drive Free WordPress Backup to Cloud.”

I am authenticated with Google Drive. When the backup runs I get this message in the email that comes to my inbox.
“Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorize or re-authorize your connection to Google Drive. (Invalid request (refresh token not present).) (no_refresh_token)”

    In my dashboard it says:
    “Authenticate with Google:
(You appear to be already authenticated, though you can authenticate again to refresh your access if you’ve had a problem). Follow this link to remove these settings for Google Drive.”
When I click on “follow this link” it takes me to the dashboard Backup/Restore tab. Isn’t this really supposed to take me to the Settings Tab???

So I go to Settings Tab but I don’t see how to remove the settings for Google Drive.

So I went back to the movie and followed it to the point where I am at, everything seems set in Google for a drive API.

But in the video, when it shows in the console to go to OAuth consent screen, I enter everything and then go to Credentials Tab where a field asks for “Authorized Redirect Url.) The movie notes to go to my dashboard to get this. At this point I cannot find the Authorized redirect url in my dashboard. The video shows there should be a authorized redirect URL to authorized the redirect in the Google Drive settings tab, but I’ve clicked on everything available under settings under Google Drive in my dashboard but there is no URL to copy.

I’ve spent days on this and I am simply clueless what to do next. At one point yesterday I had 45 tabs open as I followed UpdraftPlus and Google instructions for the next step.

I need to find the URL for the Authorized redirect URI so I can finish the authorization. Can someone explain to me how to generate this url? It is not displaying the same things in the video as it is in my dashboard at this point.
    Thank you

    Hi,

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

That video is now somewhat out of date. We have now switched to a different method of authenticating where you do not need to set up your own Google app. This is the method that we recommend using.

The relevant guide can be found here:
    https://updraftplus.com/support/using-updraftplus-google-drive-app/

I would recommend removing any existing Google Drive settings, and the additional ‘UPDRAFTPLUS_CUSTOM_GOOGLEDRIVE_APP’ code (if you have added this). Then, follow through the guide above.

If you still encounter an error, please could you send us the IP address or URL of your site, and I will ensure that the connection to our authentication server is not being blocked.

Sorry for the delay in attempting this again.
I followed these instructions exactly and it appeared to go well. I could see that it immediately attempted to do a backup but there were errors and it failed again. There is a error calling GET and the reason seems to be (401) Invalid Credentials. The were errors so the “resume” event is rescheduled.

When I first attempted this I went so deep into the google api setup that I am not sure exactly where the problems are.

Could I uninstall, delete and reinstall the app to make this work properly?
    Thank you, Matoca

This is not resolved! I get an email everyday that says the backup was made but: Failed to upload to Google Drive: failed to access parent folder (Error calling GET https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2/about: (401) Invalid Credentials)

This plugin has consumed hours of my time and the instructions are extremely variable depending on which ones you follow. The “New” instructions to connect with Google Drive still don’t work and there is no response.
