Author archive issue: Trying to get property ‘display_name’ of non-object

  • On the author archive page we get the following notice:

    Notice: Trying to get property ‘display_name’ of non-object in …plugins\co-authors-plus\co-authors-plus.php on line 1741

    and the author’s name doesn’t get displayed. The author’s posts get displayed correctly.
    We’ve tried this with an official WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-One) and all other plugins deactivated.

    What can we do to resolve the issue?
