Ok, I see now you are using the plugin, but actually hiding the Rating Box, this is not accepted by Google, you need to display the Box.

I have WordPress SEO plugin running on sites with no issues.

The plugin’s job is to make sure your review is marked up correctly, but for Rich Snippets in search results is totally up to Google. So, there is no guarantee!
