    Hi there!

With your excellent plugin, we can now have non-users as guest authors, which is great. As we run this as a trial, we have filled out all the info for one guest author, like his picture, bio, social media. These things show up very well in the author box at the bottom of the blog post.

But when you click on the author name, as listed in the beginning of the post, it takes you to a page where the first thing that shows up is a grey box with a shadow instead of the author’s picture. The only text in this box is “166 posts, 89 Comments #” (which, by the way, is not accurate information about this author). You can see this here. I would think this would show his bio box again–or at least something less unsightly.

Can you help? We’re a content business and would love to recommend this plugin to all our clients (this client already bought your premium version), but this is a big hiccup.

    Many, many thanks in advance!

    Hi @daedtech!

clicking on the name of the author should lead you to the author’s archive page, just as WP does with registered users. What the plugin does is to replicate that behavior with guest users. If not configured otherwise, the page displayed uses your theme’s author page template. Should you wish to use another one different, you just can tell the plugin to use the one you like (plugin settings > main > Guest author archive pages > template). You can even change the slug to use on the URL.

So, my guess is that grey box with the “mistery man” avatar is an author box displayed by your theme’s author template. I guess you can remove it from your theme’s settings and, as long as you have premium version, include there a Molongui Author box using a shortcode (please, check this article to know how to). In any case, you can just use the template you prefer as explained above.

Our apologies for not having seen your message before, but please, do remember you can have instant access to us opening a help request ticket on our site (here), so you don’t have to wait 2 days for an answer from us.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

    Regards,
    Molongui Support Team
