Author links show up as broken links

    I have Yoast set for a single user, so author archives are hidden from search engine crawls. That’s what I want.

    While you can’t see the author link on the page, it’s there. An external site crawler will pick it up and show it as a redirect to the site homepage. That’s as good a place as any, but would it be possible or practical to remove that link altogether?

    We understand the need to hide author archives but you mentioned an external site crawler picking it and redirecting it to the homepage. Can you walk us through how to replicate this so we can understand that scenario better?

    Hi Jeroen

    I missed Maybellyne’s response.

    In the end I hid the author links, so fixed the problem.
