Author not available

  • I can not set the author of a page or a post. It’s not visible.

    I use the latest installed version of wp with no clasical editor.
    The author is not visiable
    I can not set nor change it

    all plugins disbabled, nothing changed
    My hosting suggested to report it here

    In one subsite of my multisite install I can see the author in my quick editing.

    In earlier versions of wp I could see the author.

  • In the Block Editor (Gutenberg) it should be under –> document –> Status and visibility…

    That probably won’t show unless there are several contributor or editor level users assigned to that blog (but I might be wrong about that). My thinking is if there’s only one possible author then there’s nothing to choose.

    The reason it shows in the one site’s quick editor is probably because there are other users for that site.

    Let me know if you see something different or need more help.
