author parameter blocked

Hello, is there any way to change your plugin to use a different url parameter than author? for instance zp_author?
There is a significant wordpress vulnerability using ?author= in the url of a wordpress page. Our security plugin blocks this parameter, and thereby breaks the zotpress plugin.
