Author status

Hi,

I am working on a personal project which aims to have hundreds, if not thousands, of users. The users will be submitting posts and I would like to set up a system where different amounts of posts by an author, changes their status.

This is not to be confused with roles though. Their role will stay the same.

I have not determined the structure of the status system yet, but it could be something like ‘Newbie – under 10 posts’, Writer – 11 to 25 posts’ and so on.

I have searched through a stack of plugins but none I have looked at seem to cater for this kind of status – they all focus on roles only.

If anyone has any ideas how to go about this, please let me know.
