    Hi team,

    occasionally sending mails via “other SMTP” fails because of authorization failed” error.

    Our mailserver hosting provider checked the logs and replied:

    In the logs I now find the following entries, which point to the problem:

    11:05:43.007 1 SMTPI-xxxxxx(xxx.de) failed to open ACCOUNT() for [134.119.0.xxx]:xxxxx->[212.25.8.xxx]:587. Error Code=incorrect E-mail address

    Based on this entry, I suspect that the mail server sometimes does not receive the e-mail address. Then he cuts the connection because no authentication can take place (without username). Hence there must be a problem with the plugin.

    Could you please check if there is any bug.

    Adding to my original support post from yesterday:

    After further investigation, the problem seems to mainly occur with WooCommerce customer account related mails, e.g. password reset mails to users.

    Maybe that helps to identify any bug.
