• Hello,
    Greetings of the day.

After authorizing my email twice from the settings tab of the plugin and it even shows authorized in My Account->My Authorized Emails section of the MailPoet website, it still shows unauthorized in the plugin. I am attaching a few screenshots for your reference. Kindly let me know how can I fix this issue. Thanks a lot in advance.

    Best Regards,
    Dev.

    Hi there @devchandra,

I had a look at your account and I can see that your domain, prakratiorganicfood.com, is still showing as not verified in our system.

The issue is with the _mailpoet TXT field which is not set correctly. Please note that the value of this field on your domain *changes if you change your MailPoet plan.* So if you have changed your MailPoet plan recently, and updated your activation key, this value may need to be updated.

But to be clear: even if have not changed your plan, this value on your domain is incorrect, so please double check your MailPoet.com and domain settings, and re-verify your domain from the plugin side.

Please note that changes to your domain values can take up to 48 hours to propagate around the internet and reach our servers, so it may take a day or two before your domain shows as verified.

Once your domain is verified, please make sure your “from” address in **both** your MailPoet settings (under “Basics”) and on any templates or post notification emails has been set to an email that is on your domain, such as [email protected].

As a final note, updating your forum posts with a “ping” style post actually pushes your ticket down lower in our priority queue. Our system will consider the new post on your thread as valid and helpful information and so your priority in our queue will be reset. When making a forum post, in order to preserve your spot in our queue it is best to wait for our response on your initial post.

    Hey Lynn,

Thanks for the quick response. I have got my dns updated with my hosting provider and have got the domain verified from my mailpoet account (it’s showing as verified).

Now the thing is that the php()mail function is disabled by default from my hosting provider end and they have asked me to set up SMTP via WP Mail plugin and have given me this link for more reference.

So I am very confused as should I enter my hosting provider’s given information to set the plugin up or should I use MailPoet’s custom information or I don’t need the plugin at all?

Kindly guide me through this so I can finally set my email marketing up. Let me know if you need any other information from me. Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,
    Dev.

    Hi there @devchandra,

I had another look at your account today for the website prakratiorganicfood.com, and it is still showing as “unverified” in our system for the same reason as before – the TXT field/value pair is not set correctly on your domain.

It also looks as though you may be using a gmail address as your outgoing “from” email address – probably as a result of your domain not being verified yet.

Going forward from here, you have two options.

FIRST OPTION: As you have a free Starter plan with us, this allows you to use our own MailPoet Sending Service to actually send your mail. More on the MSS is here:
    https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/183-mailpoets-sending-service

Using MSS is a good idea as it has a high rate of deliverability. HOWEVER, to use MSS, you will need to BOTH a) verify your domain, and b) use a domain-specific email address, like [email protected], rather than a gmail address, as your “from” address.

It sounds as though perhaps your website host had some issues setting up your domain verification field/value pairs, and was not able to help you verify your domain. This could be why they are now recommending SMTP as your sending service instead; you can use MailPoet as a plugin to manage your lists and email addresses, but use an external sending service instead of MSS, and if you do this, you do not need to verify your domain.

SECOND OPTION: If your website host cannot get the domain verification field/value pairs entered correctly, then you could set up the plugin to use an external SMTP sending service instead as they recommend.

You would do this by going under MailPoet > Settings and choosing the “Send with…” tab, then click “Other” as your sending method.

There are other options here. By default you can just accept the WordPress sending method which sends through your website host. This is the most unreliable way to send mail.

Or, you can choose a third party SMTP service and set that up. As every SMTP plugin and service is unique, you would need to reach out to the providers of that service / plugin for help setting that up.

More on SMTP setup is here:

    Hey Lynn,
I’ve asked my hosting provider about 5 times now to change the .txt file and they’ve done the same every time but it still shows invalid after each attempt. Just yesterday I gave them a new .txt file and they made the changes but today it’s still showing as invalid and a new .txt code has been generated. How can I overcome this issue? Kindly help me with the same so I can go ahead and proceed with other steps.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Dev.

    Hi there @devchandra,

I just had another look at your account and your domain, https://prakratiorganicfood.com/, now shows as verified in our system.

It can take up to 48 hours for domain changes to propagate around the internet and reach our servers so most likely, the most recent change you made to this field’s value, using the new code, was correct and took a day or two to update.

As your domain is now verified, you can now send email through our MailPoet Sending Service as long as you use a “from” email that is domain specific (for example, something like [email protected]).

    Hey Lynn,
Yes it is showing as verified now, finally! Thanks a lot for that. But tell me when I am trying to add an email of my domain for example [email protected] , it is showing as “You can now send emails using this address with MailPoet” but it is not visible to the list of authorized email lists. Why? Is it normal or it should appear? Let me know. Check this video here for your reference, Thanking you once again for all the help and assistance ??

    Best Regards.

    Hi again @devchandra,

This is definitely expected. Once your domain is marked as verified, any email that uses that domain is automatically authorized.

So, with your domain prakratiorganicfood.com now verified, the email address [email protected] is automatically authorized and will not be listed explicitly under Authorized Emails on your MailPoet.com account.

You should be good to go!
